Inside The Studio- A snoop around the new Pickle HQ

A year and a half and one pandemic later and we are FINALLY working in the same space as each other. Has the novelty worn off yet? Not one bit! and we can’t see it wearing off for a good long while. Not only are we working in the same space but we have bagged ourselves a glorious loft studio that would be in the Pinterest mood boards of our dreams. Two very lucky pickles here. Without further ado, here's a few interesting bits and pieces from around the space.

The Desk Space

Let's start with where you can find ourselves parked for the most of the day.

Desk- A mix of Ikea worktops, Habitat trestle legs nabbed off Liv’s old desk and a cabinet from Facebook Marketplace (for free god bless).

Prints- ‘Best Foot Forward’ and the Pickle typography print are Pickle originals. The yellow plant print is James Daw and the Tunnock’s print is Hannah Bonn

On the Desk- A smattering of house plants of course, a small Livia Falcaru print (ft. poached eggs with sriracha YuM), laptops, ipads and a lot of pens.

The Drawers

Where we hide all the clutter… that’s mean, there's actually a lot of really useful stuff in these drawers, I take it all back.

On top- The print we designed for BDF Creative City Exhibition, a couple more plants (this will get old soon), the speaker we use everyday for good ol’ radio 6 and a few books. Stars of the show being the Graphic Artist Guild Handbook and the Business of Creativity which are CHOCK full of useful stuff.

Inside- Now, there might be a reason we have only shown one drawer here. It's BY FAR the most satisfying drawer full of all the paints we have used for mural work so far. How long, we wonder, before the whole drawers are full of paint?! In the rest we have essentially lots of cables, paper and packaging supplies for our online shop.

Printing Station/ Spare Desk

If anyone ever wanted to hot desk, and put up with our incessant chattering, here's the spot (and uncomfortable but nicely coloured chair) that you would be sat at. It doubles up as the space for our Canon IX6850 (also can be referred to as the devil in our house) and fun guillotine which are used when packaging up items for the shop. Print above we bought from the National Park Print Shop, illustrated by Tom Bingham.

Book Shelf

Apart from a vomit inducingly cute photo of us on the top, this is where the books live. Some favourites include.

This is Marketing- Seth Godin - Good for a bit of a marketing boost, lots of fun analogies and written in an easy to digest way!

The Wes Anderson Collection- The definition of a beautiful book, lots of behind the scenes magic.

Make Your Own Luck- Kate Moross- The first ‘art business’ book I ever read, so have a lot to owe to this one!

Also if you look closely there's a cheeky Bom Bom Patisserie cup we designed back when we were wee students.

The Sofa

For when it all gets too much (oh the drama), this sofa is very much here for us. Parked next to the stunning Tania Yakunova print. It's a good spot for a bit of contemplation or a cheeky relaxed ipad draw.

Near the door you can spot the beloved rubber tree and a Max Machen Leopard print, also bought from the fab National Park Print Shop.

And that's all. We hope you enjoyed this little photographic wander around the studio with a few recommendations along the way (We love a good nosey too) .
